Job description

This architectural and interiors practice offering a bespoke design and project management service to a high-net-worth client, is seeking an experienced site-based Quantity Surveyor / QS to join our client-led construction management team on a substantial high-end residential project, for a 12–36-month PAYE hourly rate contract.

The successful Quantity Surveyor / QS will be joining 3x other White Space freelancers and a dedicated client-led construction project management team onsite in a dedicated converted coach house style studio. You will be responsible for managing the commercial function across multiple trade packages under a construction management structure supporting cost control, procurement, and financial reporting across the project. The main deliverables: To provide clear, transparent, and well-controlled project costs; robust change management process with no surprises to the client; efficient package procurement and financial administration.

White Space is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor / QS with proven experience in high-end residential or complex refurbishment projects; an excellent understanding of JCT contracts and trade package procurement; experience working in a multi-package or construction management environment; be commercially astute with strong attention to detail, comfortable working closely with delivery teams on site, and have the ability to manage multiple packages simultaneously.

Quantity Surveyors / QS applying must be proactive and comfortable working without the safety net of a traditional main contractor structure, be willing to work on the client site most of the week, 40 hours, and either be immediately available, or who can start within 1-2 weeks.
