Job description

White Space has a genuinely rare opportunity to work on a high-profile arts / cultural project at a large, international design firm – using Rhino + Revit.  The scale and complexity of the project means it will be almost architectural in nature, but is an opportunity to work on wonderful architectural sculptures.

The company is a large and successful studio, one who you will almost certainly have heard of.  Their London office is home to c.100 Architects and Designers, and they work across almost all sectors of architecture.  As well as this, they have a specialist art, installation, product + industrial design team who work on these types of projects, which is where this role will reside.

The project is several huge architectural sculptures – steel frame structures of complex geometry the size of buildings – which will incorporate media and interactive screens.  The majority of the design has been done, and now the focus is on retaining the design integrity as the details are produced.

The nature of the work means that you must be able to use Rhino (Grasshopper a bonus) and Revit, having an understanding of computational design.  You must also possess knowledge of and a passion for the detailing, to bring these designs to life.  Ideally someone who has technical package experience from complex facades or building envelopes from a high calibre design studio.

This will be an initial 6-month fixed term contract, with good scope to lead on to a longer-term role – either within this arts team, or the wider architectural studio.

The salary is negotiable – we don’t want to limit this and miss out on the right person - and the start date would be as soon as possible.

If you would like to find out more, or if you or someone you know would like to apply for this role, then please get in touch today.
