Job description

White Space has been working alongside this established expanding practice based in the trendy Old Street/Shoreditch area for a while now and have had a huge amount of success placing talented Architects and also Creative Support staff within their studio of around 25. They provide an extremely sociable, supportive and collaborative environment for all their staff which also includes an excellent salary & benefits package, career development opportunities and regular training/CPD seminars. As a team they regularly attend various industry events, social nights and various team bonding competitions which enables them to provide a really positive working environment for everyone. Their core workload is within the residential, mixed use & commercial sectors where they have a healthy mix of both new build and refurbishment projects which definitely keeps everyone busy and entertained!

Due to a steady increase in workload and also a strategic decision taken by the senior management team they now need to recruit a mid to senior level Architectural Technologist (they will consider a technically oriented qualified Architect) on a permanent basis to undertake a practice wide role to float across all the major projects within the office. They have a specific commercial scheme in mind for this person to jump onto which is currently at the technical detailed design stage so this is a "hit the ground running" scenario! You will be required to work closely alongside the lead Project Architect in the development of the working drawing programme but will require some involvement with other live projects. This is a strategic long term role that is extremely important to the practice going forward as you will become an important part of the technical/construction team.

You will need to be adaptable, flexible and have the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously so this role won't be for the faint hearted! The ability to quickly critique projects to identify technical issues and challenges will be key as you will be assisting others to provide solutions to those problems. An in-depth knowledge of construction methods is paramount and exposure to mainly residential, mixed use and commercial projects will be an absolute must! Vectorworks skills would be advantageous but training will be given.
