Job description

White Space is looking for an ambitious Senior Architect looking to take the next step for this West End based, 8-person strong architectural studio. The role will begin as a Senior Architect position but will become an Associate role with a clear pathway for progression. The studio, started over 10 years ago, currently operates a mainly hybrid work schedule with remote working going forward interspersed with twice-weekly collaboration days in the studio when permitted.

This industry recognised studio’s portfolio of works is focused on bespoke science, research and educational projects. They look to optimise the balance between form and function bringing together craft and design, from the public realm to laboratories to heritage buildings. They pride themselves on working only with architects who are passionate about designing technologically sophisticated projects and places. Small scale projects are built exclusively by them allowing for full creative design within the studio and for larger scale projects the studio often partners with other industry giants.

To succeed in this position, you must provide useful discussion with the Directors on the direction and operations of the practice and project execution. You would also be required to take on additional roles and tasks, particularly day-to-day issues, quality improvement and mentoring staff. You will be a constructive advocate for the improvement of the company and, with the Directors approval, look for opportunities to enhance the company’s skills, services and marketability.

The experience required for this role is as follows:

  • Ten plus years of professional architectural experience in science plus non-science sectors
  • Evidence of working on good quality science sector projects
  • Ability to work in Revit is a must as they work on the BIM 360 platform across all projects.

A fantastic opportunity for anyone looking to take the next step up in the architecture of science industry - If this looks like a tailor-made position for you then please apply at: jobs@whitespacerecruitment.co.uk
