Job description

This studio, started over 10 years ago, is looking for a Part II or newly qualified architect in order to support its burgeoning portfolio of works. If you are a Part II candidate, the studio will be able to support your Part III qualification.

Currently operating a mainly hybrid work schedule, the studio is remote working interspersed with twice-weekly collaboration days in the studio when permitted. Whilst this role will begin initially as a 3-month contract this will be in view to transform into a permanent role thereafter.

This industry recognised studio’s portfolio of works is focused on bespoke science, research and educational projects. They look to optimise the balance between form and function bringing together craft and design, from the public realm to laboratories to heritage buildings. They pride themselves on working only with architects who are passionate about designing technologically sophisticated projects and places. Small scale projects are built exclusively by them allowing for full creative design within the studio and for larger scale projects the studio often partners with other industry giants.

This role has been made available due to the studio recently securing multiple projects that are ready to kick off including the conversion of existing office building into laboratories in London and Cambridge, a new high-rise building in London which would be ‘lab-enabled’ and continuing work including the repurposing of an existing science campus.

The successful candidate will be able to work independently, have site experience of interior fitouts and possess excellent Revit skills as the studio operates on the BIM 360 across all projects. Knowledge of laboratory design would also be a welcome bonus.

A fantastic opportunity for anyone looking to join the architecture of science industry - If this looks like a tailor-made position for you then please apply at: jobs@whitespacerecruitment.co.uk
