White Space is working exclusively with a leading international multi-disciplinary consultancy who are actively looking to recruit a qualified Architect to be based out of their growing office in Birmingham. Established nearly 50 years ago this organisation has become a world leader within their chosen sectors and continues to win numerous awards whilst successfully delivering highly complex buildings around the globe for all of their clients.

Due to an extremely strong pipeline of work the need has arisen to recruit a qualified Architect who possesses a proven career track record and preferably within either the healthcare, industrial, pharmaceutical or Life Sciences sectors and has the ability to work effectively with the senior members of the team. Your main tasks will be to focus on the architectural delivery and execution of all projects. You will also play a key part in contributing to the overall success of the UK design and delivery services the organisation continues to provide to all their major clients.

Job Role & Responsibilities include:-

  • Develop design solutions in close consultation with the Head of Architecture
  • Prepare and co-ordinate project information and its timely issue to the Client, Contractor and/or Project Team as and when required
  • Project planning and resourcing - advising the Head of Department of any changes to resources
  • Responsibility for the co-ordination of concept and detail design information - within the quality, time and costs constraints
  • Ensuring all project files and processes comply with internal QA procedures
  • Involvement with regular design and technical reviews
  • Be responsible for ensuring that designs are compliant with the customer/client brief
  • Undertake any other duties, within reason, that may be delegated to you by the Head of Architecture on behalf of the company
Qualifications & Experience required:-
  • ARB/RIBA registered
  • Possess a proven track record as an Architect across a variety of projects, preferably within industrial, healthcare, pharmaceutical, or Life Sciences schemes
  • Have knowledge and experience across all RIBA work stages
  • Ability to lead, coordinate and supervise both internal and external teams
  • Possess a thorough understanding of the financial aspects of delivering projects
  • Display excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Have a thorough knowledge of the UK Building Regulations and construction technology
  • Strong level of Autodesk Revit proficiency
  • Display a strong teamwork focus and an enthusiastic approach towards others
  • Self-motivated, organised & reliable coupled with a professional approach and demeanour
  • Flexible and adaptable to meet the demands of the role and projects
