Job description

Tired & bored of your daily commute into the office? Looking for a new challenge away from your current role? Fancy taking the lead within a specialist practice based in the heart of beautiful Hampshire? Fancy the opportunity to grow your own Studio?

Well, take a look at this everyone!!!

A truly unique opportunity has arisen with a small Hampshire based practice to find an experienced qualified Architect to head up all their architectural activities. Sector wise they primarily work on world class music/recording studios for a multitude of household names ranging from music producers, DJ’s, musicians and also major film and television companies - this small office is a true market leader! The majority of their work to date has been generally fit out from shell & core but due to increased interest from clients they are now working on a slightly wider scope including the office space, breakout spaces and reception areas associated with the studio facilities. Private residential schemes are also being looked into for their special client base!

The Director, who we have known for many years and is a great guy!, is now looking to add a qualified Architect to his small team who has fabulous all-round skills and an awesome persona to work closely alongside him on all projects and take the lead in the design and delivery of a variety of extremely exciting projects. You will be expected to lead from the front and really make an impact within the practice for the long term as there really is a bright future ahead for this practice and yourself! This individual will also be required to ensure all drawings and documentation for every project are delivered on time and in a consistent style/manner. Initially you will be the sole Architect within the business but the plan is to recruit a more junior individual within 6 months as the pipeline is extremely hot! Any new members of the team will be directly managed by you.

Skills required for this role are as follows:-

  •                 Fluent in AutoCAD & Revit
  •                 Experience of managing projects and external consultants
  •                 Experience in carrying out a CDM Principal Designer role
  •                 Skilled in producing detailed, construction issue drawings
  •                 Some interior design skills
  •                 Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  •                 Confident in managing a small team
  •                 Willing to travel - projects are both UK based and overseas
  •                 RIBA & ARB registered
  •                 Ideally a strong interest in music & film (not essential but would be nice!)
  •                 Extensive site exposure

Important - this individual is not expected to have any previous experience working on studio projects or a specialist acoustic knowledge as the Director will give you all the knowledge you will need!

The successful candidate will be based in their office full time, but flexible working conditions will definitely be on offer (where reasonable). The new office, which is nearly completed, is in a rural location with a tennis court and gym on site! Oh, and a lovely pub is only around the corner!

Please apply now as this is an urgent role!
