Job description

This nationwide architectural practice is seeking a Residential Layout Designer with experience in working with developers and housebuilders to achieve planning permissions. The practice works in a wide range of sectors including affordable housing, community, education, masterplanning and many more and with project values ranging from £1m up to £200m. They have three offices in the UK and have received a considerable number of awards for their work for projects small to large across multiple sectors.

The successful candidate for this role would be required to lead several projects simultaneously including working with residential developers, housing associations, builders, preparing feasibility drawings, masterplans and planning application packages.  You would have a keen eye for detail and a strong knowledge of planning standards as well as UK building regulations.

The key skills and experiences required to be considered for this position are as follows:

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in UK residential house builder led schemes
  • Demonstratable experience in running large projects and achieving planning permission
  • The ability to lead a small team
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Sketchup
  • Revit experience is beneficial but not essential

This role is a full-time permanent position with a salary of £45 – 50,000 pa (DOE) for the right candidate.
